BMW DME / ECU Unlock - Pre- and Post-June 2020
ECUPROGRAM performs supported BMW ECU unlocks in-house in Calgary, Alberta. Bring the ECU already removed, mail it in, or bring the complete vehicle for ECU removal and reinstallation by our team.
Unlock pricing (CAD)
- Single ECU, pre-June 2020: $300
- Single ECU, post-June 2020: $300
- Dual ECUs, either generation: $600 total (2 x $300)
- Customer provides an already removed ECU: no removal/reinstallation fee.
- If ECUPROGRAM removes and reinstalls the ECU(s) from the vehicle: +$150 per vehicle job.
Complete-vehicle examples: $450 for a single ECU, $750 for dual ECUs. Taxes and shipping, where applicable, are additional. Unlocking does not include an ECU tune or third-party flashing software licence.
Compatibility and ordering
Select Single ECU or Dual ECU and the corresponding model-year category. The model-year dropdown is only a guide: some 2020 BMWs fall before or after the June 2020 security transition. The actual ECU hardware and software determine support. Send the VIN and ECU identification for confirmation before ordering. Not every BMW model or DME is supported.
Mail-in service
Customers in Canada and the United States can send an already removed ECU to our Calgary shop. You arrange and pay inbound shipping. Return shipping is charged at checkout. We do not ship the ECU overseas for unlocking. We send the shipping address when the order is placed.
Unsuccessful unlock attempts
If we cannot unlock the ECU, we refund what you paid minus a $75 attempt fee. Shipping is not refunded. We return the ECU.
