BMW performance tuning in Calgary

ECUPROGRAM has been tuning BMWs in Calgary since 2010. Every file is built for your car, your fuel and your hardware, not pulled from a generic download. We have completed more than 3,260 calibrations, and every in-shop tune is checked on our dyno with datalogs before the car goes home.

Whether you drive an M2, M3, M4, M5, X3 M, X5 M or a 340i, 440i, 540i or M340i, we tune the engine computer (DME) and, where the platform supports it, the transmission computer as well.

 

Real results from our dyno

Real cars tuned by ECUPROGRAM and measured on our in-house Dynocom dyno in Calgary: stock run vs. tuned run, wheel horsepower (SAE J1349) and lb-ft of torque. Your results depend on your car, fuel and modifications.

• BMW M6 F13 (S63) Stage 2: 459 to 636 whp (+177), 456 to 625 lb-ft

• BMW M4 (S55) tune: 380 to 461 whp (+81), 388 to 451 lb-ft

• BMW 435i (N55) with full bolt-ons: 342 to 416 whp (+74), 324 to 455 lb-ft

What is included in a BMW tune

• Full health scan and fault-code check before any changes

• A backup of your original factory software, kept on file

• Boost, fuel, ignition timing and torque limits calibrated for your fuel grade

• Transmission calibration for the ZF 8HP automatic and the M DCT where supported: quicker shifts and higher torque limits

• Optional exhaust burble and pop settings, from mild to off

• Dyno runs and datalogs to confirm safe air-fuel ratios and timing

 

2020+ BMW DME unlock

Most 2020 and newer BMWs leave the factory with a locked engine computer that cannot be read by standard tools. We unlock it in-house in Calgary before tuning. Pre-2020 unlocks start at $299, 2021 and newer cars are $499, and cars with two engine computers are priced at double. Out-of-town customers can use our mail-in unlock service.

 

Stage 1 and Stage 2

Stage 1 runs on factory hardware and is the best value for most cars. Stage 2 is hardware-dependent: it needs upgraded parts such as an intake, downpipe or intercooler, and we confirm your parts list before we build the file. If you are not sure which stage fits your car, call us before you order.

Every tune is written by Miguel, the owner, who has calibrated BMWs in Calgary for more than fifteen years. We are a licensed WinOLS 5 user and work with professional tools including CMD, bitbox and KESS3, so we can read and write the DME directly on the bench or through the OBD port, depending on the car.

We do not sell one-size-fits-all maps. Before writing your file we look at your fuel, your modifications, your gearbox and how you drive, whether that is daily driving through a Calgary winter or track days in the summer. If something does not feel right after the tune, bring the car back within 30 days and we will adjust it at no charge.

How to book

Local customers book an in-shop tune in Calgary at 4527 1 St SE. Drop-off is at 9:30 am and we start work at 10:00 am. If you are outside Calgary, we can ship a pre-loaded handheld flasher or build a custom file from a read of your ECU. Every tune includes free adjustments for 30 days, and our refund terms are in section 11 of our policy page.
